
The Slovak-born soprano Tamara Morozová has been a soloist of the National Theatre Opera and State Opera since January 2025. She made her debut there in the 2022/2023 season in the double role of Marguerite and Shadow in the production of Erwin Schulhoff’s opera Flammen (Flames), directed by Calixto Bieito.
In 2025, she debuted as Senta under the baton of Karsten Januschke at the State Opera and her other significant debut was Strauss’s Ariadne under the baton of Johannes Witt. Her repertoire also includes roles such as Janáček’s Jenůfa, Dvořák’s Armida and Cizí kněžna (Foreign Princess) (in Rusalka), Smetana’s Krasava (in Libuše) and Ludiše (in The Brandenburgers in Bohemia), and First Lady (Mozart: The Magic Flute).
She is also a finalist for the Wagner Society of New York Award 2025 and a proud scholarship recipient of the American Olga Forrai Foundation, which supports promising dramatic singers. Tamara is also a finalist of the prestigious Lauritz Melchior International Wagner Competition 2024, where she performed as Sieglinde and Senta. Among other accolades, she is a laureate of the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition in the Junior, Song, and in 2021also the Opera categories, where she also won the Audience Award and the National Theatre in Prague Award.
A holder of several prestigious scholarships (Bayreuther Festspiele, IsaOperaVienna, Junge Musiker Stiftung, Sommerakademie Mozarteum Salzburg), she is a graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU), where she studied with Prof. Magdaléna Hajóssyová, and attended master classes with KS Edda Moser, KS Daphne Evangelatos, KS Marga Schiml, Kateřina Kněžíková, and Kirsten Schötteldreier.
She is also dedicated to the interpretation and popularization of chamber song—she is a founding member and chairwoman of the Lieder Society, z. s.
